"Danish flint daggers
Flakes of flint have been struck off these daggers, to give the impression that the handle is made of leather that has been sewn together.
  This requires great skill in flint working.  People in Denmark in Neolithic times, about 4000 years ago,
 appreciated the quality of the flint working needed to create this effect.  Perhaps for them such objects had magical properties.
